SAPSASA Swimming 2018

The Southern Fleurieu SAPSASA swimming carnival was held on Wednesday 21st of February at Strathalbyn Community Swimming Pool. Nine schools from the Fleurieu region competed in the carnival. The day was characterised with a family feel, as many students have friends across the region due to other sporting commitments. We took 27 students to compete in all the various races. After 34 events Victor Harbor R-7 School won the championship shield over the long-term reigning champions, Eastern Fleurieu School. The schools were equal on
points up until the last event but Victor scored 10 points in the last race to secure the shield.

Congratulations go to Elijah J, Anais F, Charlie S, Chloe C, Charlie N, Tess W,
Amelie F, Alissa B. The first swimmers in all events were selected for our State
Country Carnival on March 23rd and the next three in freestyle 50m for our relay
teams. Many of our other students just missed out on a place in this team. Our other
team members were, Chloe M, Hayley M, Seb T, Lilly S, Fergus C, Beck K, Olivia
N, Jed G, Oliviah V, Katrina T, Isabelle T, Kelsey M, Monique M, Jake M, Mitchell S,

Thanks to the parents for the great support that made the day run smoothly. The enthusiasm and behaviour of all our students was fantastic. We couldn’t be prouder- a highly successful year of swimming.
